Lab on HPC for Multi-Functional Metamaterials and Metastructures
- Hours 15
- ECTS 2
- Teacher Prof. DUMBSER Michael, Prof. PESHKOV Ilya
Objectives
The laboratory aims at providing the knowledge and programming skills for the definition, implementation, and execution on HPC architectures of simulation SW. Beyond introductory examples, specific cases related to the analysis of complex multi-functional/multi-physics metamaterials and metastructures will be addressed also taking advantage of the HPC facilities hosted at the University of Trento.
Topics
Bash scripting introduction
Message Passing Interface (MPI)
Parallelization of explicit and implicit finite volume methods
Applications to multi-functional/multi-physics metamaterials and metastructures
Required Skills
Course of “High-Performance Computing for Multi-Functional Metamaterials and Metastructures”.
Course Modality and Verification of Learning
The course is offered on-site and on-line (synchronous and asynchronous) with video recordings, hand-outs, etc. of the lectures available off-line (*). The teaching activity includes SW exercises. The exam consists in the development and presentation of a project assignment.
