Laboratory on Additive Manufacturing of Metamaterials (Part II)
- Hours 15
- ECTS 2
- Teacher Prof. BIESUZ Mattia, Prof. EMANUELLI Lorena, Prof. RIGOTTI Daniele
Objectives
A wide range of Additive Manufacturing (AM) technologies have been developed in the recent year to produce complex Geometries. These technologies are used to production metamaterials with extraordinary properties not found in natural materials. This course focuses on characterizing the microstructure and unique properties of metallic, ceramic, and polymeric metamaterials.
Topics
Microstructural and mechanical characterization of the metal metamaterials
Physical, structural and mechanical characterization of 3D printed ceramic metamaterial
Physical, chemical and mechanical characterization of 3D printed polymeric metamaterial
Required Skills
Courses of “Foundations of Material Science” and “Additive Manufacturing of Metasurfaces and Metamaterials (Technologies)”
Course Modality and Verification of Learning
The classes will be given onsite. The activity includes laboratory activities.
The exam consists of an oral presentation of the laboratory activities.
